Why is it that when people hear about races added into GW, they immediately think of WoW? Have you guys not played many games before? Pretty much every fantasy game out there has a player race option. It's not exclusive to WoW. And Anet will not change the gameplay to something similar to WoW, nor will they start demanding monthly fees. They must know that a large portion of the GW community plays because of the balanced gameplay and the non-subscription based game.
I'm also skeptical about this article. And if it is real, it must be more than a basic addon. Otherwise, what has Anet been working on since last April, which was apparently chapter 4 and according to this, it's a tiny addon to tie up the game (or at least that's how I interpreted it). But I don't particularly mind if it is true. As long as Anet keeps updating GW1 with some new content every so often till the new GW2, just to keep us playing, then it'll all be alright. And hopefully that there will be some option to import your characters over, though I'll probably play as a Charr quite a lot. Basically I just want the option to import so that all the time and effort spent on getting titles doesn't go to waste.

Lol, true. Considering the depth of the information givin I would wager some of this is true (possibly the them and name of the next release, as well as the screen shot) but considering the source....we just need to wait 10 days for the PC Gamer issue to be released. That will be MUCH more credable info.

Actually, there's not really any info here that someone couldn't have made up. There is one thing that really makes me think this is fake... Anyone else notice the bad grammar? I thought journalists were supposed to be good at English. This article sort of reminds me of a grade 4 English assignment, written by a solid D student (slight exaggeration, but helps get my point across better).

I would not be at all surprised if GW2 is under development, and hence is the reason for the lack of the 6-month cycle updates as we are used to.
I would also not be suprised if they added premium content in the form of an endgame/high-level area to attract back the scores of bored PvEers who have beat the storylines a billion times and are slowly moving on to different games.
I am skeptical, however, of the source of this information, especially considering NCSoft's apparent contract to stay mum until PCGamer hits stores. ANet has been exceptionally good about absolute silence up until now. Why has someone suddenly developed loose lips?
Also, the name of the campaign/add-on sounds totally awkward to me. "Eye of the North"? Come on now...

Unfortunatly the strongest suggestion I have that SOME of this is true is the silance from Gail.
If this story was totaly bogus, she would say so. But if there is SOME truth in it she would not be able to comment at all, for fear of confirming something she is not allowed to confirm yet.
Just an idea. Like I said, PC Gamer will be much more reliable.

I'm not all that keen for them to add other races to the game. I am quite satisfied with being human (I just think playing as a Charr would be awesome). However I just don't see why playable races should immediately be linked to WoW. It's not like they thought the concept up themselves.

Isn't it only like 9 am in the US at the moment? At the time this thread was posted, it was just after midnight. Gaile has a job. She can't spend her whole night reading forums, and she's probably only just getting into work now. It's perfectly reasonable that she hasn't commented on this yet. Wait a few hours, see what happens. If there's still no reply by the end of the day, then I say maybe the silence does mean something.

Theres currently only really one thing thats stopping me from being sold on GuildWars2.
I NEED to know if you can transfer characters. If we can't i'll simply move to greener pastures.
Chances are so will a majority of other players,PvP and PvE alike.

Everyone, please keep it civil. Of course this is a rumor and unconfirmed. I'm sure we all know that. But it is speculation and a good topic matter. Different playable races, GW 2, name Eye of the North, all great stuff to get the rumor-mills going but we don't need to bash one another or criticize the obvious. Discussion is allowed on rumors.

Shit, I just hoped they would bring up new expansions, don't make a GW 2 >< If GW 2 is a game where we have to make new characters, I will NOT buy it.
Edit: it says:
100% oriented towards games with characters of maximum level.
This means that only lvl20 characters can go over to the new map?

Actually it's only 7:30 here in Washington right now. So I would think that Gaile probably hasn't seen this thread yet, give her a couple of hours.

Used to? Rather referring to some may-be-possible-statements from the pre-release era.
The ONLY chapter ever to come after 6 months was Nightfall. I don't see a cycle there. And surely none that we got used to.

I would like to know my character can go to GW2 as well - after all if I plan on working to the title "I'm very important" I should be important enough to travel through time to the new campaign

Okay i'll put this big and bold, pretend I'm Gaile Gray:
This is unconfirmed information. None of this is official information from ArenaNet or NCSoft. It will neither be confirmed or denied at this point in time. It's too early. Changes can and will happen. Speculation is cool though as is the free exchange of ideas and opinions.

"I'm very important" has been confirmed, go to the screenshots title thread and ask any of the "People Know Me" title holders to show you the tier status bar

Um... last time I checked Washington is EST, and it's almost 10 here which means when you posted it was still 10 since people have posted so fast
